passion
for the contemporary
Six saxophonists from four countries
a passion for contemporary music.
A music that sets free new energies.
Some say, atmospherics.
A repertoire that crosses the borderlines.
Some say, with an unknown destination.
Meet ENSEMBLE ATMOSPHÈRE.

new
synthesis
On the one hand ENSEMBLE ATMOSPHÈRE focuses on the
cooperation with young composers and the joint creation of
new works on the other hand on the existing contemporary saxophone
repertoire.
Concerts include the whole saxophone family - from sopranino to bass saxophone - and
cover solo as well as ensemble literature. The result is a unique performance which is
not just an arbitrary sequence of works but a new synthesis of compositions.

sax
appeal
"A concert to remember. Each moment a musical delight beyond imagination. The
audience did not have a clue what was going to happen next. In his grave, Adolphe Sax
must have been both spinning and laughing."
"Their fascinating exploration of techniques with the instruments made for a diverse
and sometimes confronting evening. … An insight into the cutting edge of composition
for the saxophone."
"Atmosphère a ravi le public. … Il a découvert parfois à sa grande
surprise une musique idiomatique avec des sonorités éclectiques jamais
entendues auparavant."
